Helen Acevedo
Professional Partnerships and Insurance Specialist
After more than twenty years in business operations, consulting, and change management, I reached a point where I wanted to align my work with a deeper sense of purpose. Following my divorce and years of balancing career, motherhood, and personal growth, I felt called to help others find clarity during their own transitions, not just through strategy, but with compassion and understanding.
Like many clients SDA serves, I’ve experienced challenging financial and emotional times that reshaped my priorities. These experiences give me empathy for those facing change and a strong appreciation for the value of clear guidance and steady support.
As SDA’s Professional Partnerships & Insurance Specialist, I connect clients with trusted professional attorneys, mediators, and financial advisors, and help individuals discover insurance solutions that safeguard what matters most. My approach emphasizes education, structured support, and confidence during uncertain times.
Before joining SDA, I held leadership and project management roles in consulting, healthcare, and financial services. My background in process improvement, systems implementation, and organizational change now helps me support families through major life transitions.
I hold an MBA in Business Management from Dominican University of New York, a B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University, and a Prosci Change Management Certification. I am also licensed as a NYS Life and Health Insurance Broker.
I live in Rockland County, New York, where I raised my two daughters along with our loyal puppy, Lola, and our Maroon-Bellied Conure, Pepita. I enjoy cooking, spending time by the water, and exploring new places.
